Nitish Kumar (born 1 March 1951) is a senior Indian politician and a prominent leader from Bihar. He has served multiple terms as the Chief Minister of Bihar and is known for his focus on governance reforms, infrastructure development, women’s empowerment, and law-and-order improvements in the state.
An engineering graduate by qualification, he began his political career in the 1970s and later became associated with the Janata Dal and subsequently the Janata Dal (United). Over the years, he has also held key positions in the Union Government, including serving as Union Minister for Railways and Agriculture.
Nitish Kumar remains one of the most influential political figures in Bihar’s contemporary politics.
